Fall Vibes and a Fresh Start 🍂
Hi Everyone,
I don't know about you, but something shifted at the Fall Solstice! As soon as fall officially arrived, the weather finally cooled down here. Thank Goodness! The kids seemed more settled, the week flew by, and everything just felt a little lighter.
Friday was a half day for students, which meant ART CLUB! My 3rd–5th graders started toilet paper sculptures (we're making masks and donuts) and even squeezed in some pipe cleaner spider rings. About 15 happy artists, a little creativity, and a very chill Friday. Normally, my Fridays are packed with back-to-back classes, so this was such a treat. I even had time to visit with coworkers and prep artwork for an upcoming show.
Fall decorations are popping up around the neighborhood, and we're buying pumpkins this weekend. I love the variety we have here!
After being sick, I think something shifted in me, too. I have this renewed desire to enjoy life, laugh with the kids, and sing instead of yell. Easier said than done some days, but we all need a little mindset reset now and then. This week, it all seemed to come together.
Sometimes, a little cooler weather, creative time, and a fresh perspective are all we need.
Now that it's October/Inktober, sketching is underway in Studio Whiskers, I'm trying out a black sketchbook - so fun!
Hope you're starting to feel those fall vibes wherever you are!
Cheers with a pumpkin latte or beer y'all, Eileen
