Hi Everyone,
(This is the garden center, sorry you can't see the sign from this angle. I'll try to take a picture this week.)Happy Sunday! Today, I want to tell you about a shift that has happened this year. For years as I woke up in the morning I would do some form of exercise (yoga, stretching, cardio, whatever) but this year because I have to wake up so darn early, it just wasn't feeling good to work out, so I started meditating. I've been following a guided gratitude meditation and they talk about being a magnet for miracles.
The sign P-Nuts is near the garden shop right down the street from the house and it makes me laugh. When we first moved here, I thought the garden center was named P-Nuts and I thought that was really odd/funny, lol. I just wasn't connecting the verbal sound of this with the name. Then, after being here for a while I realized, ahh. P-NUTS=Peanuts lol They carry boiled peanuts, we bought some with our plants last week (smiling).
Now, how these two very odd paragraphs connect - what started happening after meditating for a while - I started tuning into the p-nut size miracles that were happening all around me... think about tuning a radio, you turn the dial slowly so you can get that college station that is a quarter of a turn between 96 and 98 on the dial.
Here are the little miracles I started noticing:
- when the perfect song is playing for my mood as I got into the car
- I see the moon on the way to work
- the student who always screams isn't here today
- I notice that this student always hugs me upon entering class
- my co-worker paid me a compliment
- I loosened up and danced in that class today
- one miracle inducing trick that I do in the shower - I turn the dial cool (not an ice plunge, just enough so that I get goose bumps) then I turn the dial warm again, if that doesn't make you believe hot water is some sort of miracle :)
- sitting outside with a slight breeze and a beer after school or just looking at the plants
you get the drift
After I'd been doing this for a while I saw a video of some young guy talk about how he believed that great big miracles were going to happen, win the lottery, etc. I hope those happen for someone but no, I believe it's more about tuning your dial to the peanut size good things happening all around.
This does not mean I do this all the time - it's difficult - but I'm trying.
I hope you are out there finding the p-nut miracles today! Happy Mother's Day!
Cheers and luv - Eileen
