A Different Vision Board

 My Vision Board

Okay, so I was listening to this podcast while painting the other day and I really liked the bit about creating a vision board.  I've made them before but this time I looked around and I've had this letter press drawer that I bought at an antique store ages ago and I thought yeah!  That's going to become my vision board.  I painted it white so that it would look clean and simple.

Then, I began decorating it.  I had all of these colored papers that I made and I cutout pieces that fit for the background.  I added bits from magazines I've held onto.  I had fun!  Here's the thing... A vision board is about manifesting things, and the perfect picture is great but you can also have symbols of things that mean something to you.  That's more what I did with mine.  I have many butterflies because they are the symbol for transformation and I want to start every day being or transforming into the person I want to be.  There are pictures of growing things and making things, etc.  I added words as reminders and things I want in my life.  I even left space because I want space for creativity and spontaneity.

So, I hope this provides a little inspiration to making a vision project.  It could be a scene inside a shoe box or some pictures taped into an old book.  Your vision board does not need to be on display for others to see or you can use symbols in place of pictures.  It's yours.  Have fun!

Attached is the video I made so that you can take a closer look and the video I was listening to that inspired it.
