Adventuring - Art Fields
In our spare time here in Columbia we've been exploring and one of the best adventures we've been on to date has been Art Fields! Art Fields is a one week art event that takes place in Lake City, SC. The event was started by Darla Moore who was the first woman to be on the cover of Fortune Magazine. She is from Lake City and wanted to revitalize the town. So, she was instrumental in getting this event up and running. It's one of the best art shows and competitions I've ever experienced.
Art Fields has so much rolled into one - excellent art, small town charm, cute shops, great restaurants, and gorgeous gardens. It is held around the last week in April. https://www.artfieldssc.org The whole town participates! Every shop has art displayed, so it's super fun to walk around town and see both the shops and the art. The public gets to participate by voting on their favorites. (as many as you like thank goodness)
I honestly cannot believe that we hadn't heard about this event prior to being in SC. This one is worth traveling for!
