Adding On - October 2025

 Happy November Everyone!

I don't know about you, but October is so full—I feel like I can barely catch my breath. We're in the thick of school, the first grades are due, and there are parades, potlucks, and spirit week. Inktober is so fun! I always start with lofty goals but never quite get through them all—and that's okay.

We went to our neighbors’ Halloween masquerade party, and I won “Most Creative Mask”—I painted it to match my dress. So fun! (See picture above.)

One of the great things about being an art teacher is that I get to jump fully into the season: Hispanic Heritage Month and Halloween! For October, we made bats out of toilet paper tubes, color wheel spider webs, spooky houses, Gustavo Ghosts, guitars, and more. I played a kid-friendly playlist for the season.   I can honestly say I'm October’d out :)

The Bulletin board outside my class!

With Halloween on a Friday, I braced for the worst but am happy to report that it ended up being pretty chill—thank you, universe!🙏 I set up stations for my students, so I think that might have helped? Who knows.

Oh yes, I added onto the painting above. When it came home it just didn't feel finished, so I added the center panel, the lighthouse, and a little marker on the right side. Now it feels complete.

I hope you are relaxing this Sunday. May you find some calm moments within the chaos.
Cheers, Love you all.
